I care about systems that people can understand, operate reliably, and maintain over time.

- Intuit. Led the Cloud Native Platform, working on Kubernetes infrastructure and developer experience.
- Microsoft Azure. Founded Open Service Mesh and led its development through general availability and into production operation.
- Cruise. Built backend services for autonomous vehicle mapping and training.
Writing and interests
I like understanding software by reading its source. At Code Reading, I examine programs and the decisions behind them. My blog collects notes on programming and tools.
I learned to program in Pascal and still enjoy returning to older languages and tools.
